Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Astro Planner ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Astro Planner is an astrophotography planning tool that provides astronomical calculations including sun/moon rise and set times, golden and blue hour windows, moon phase calendars, light pollution maps, Milky Way visibility forecasts, and aurora activity tracking.

Accuracy Disclaimer

  • Astronomical calculations are based on algorithms from Jean Meeus's "Astronomical Algorithms" and are intended for planning purposes.
  • While we strive for accuracy, calculated times and positions may differ from actual conditions due to atmospheric effects, local terrain, altitude, and other environmental factors.
  • The App should not be relied upon for navigation, safety-critical decisions, or scientific research requiring high precision.

Light Pollution Data

Light pollution map overlays are sourced from publicly available datasets and may not reflect current conditions. New construction, seasonal changes, and other factors can affect actual light pollution levels.

Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the developer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Limitation of Liability

  • The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
  • In no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App.
  • The developer is not responsible for any decisions made based on information provided by the App, including but not limited to travel plans, equipment purchases, or photography scheduling.

User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the App complies with all applicable local laws and regulations.
  • You are responsible for any data charges incurred from downloading map tiles or fetching aurora data while using the App.

Modifications

  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App at any time without notice.
  • We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
